Father Gabriel Wankar
Father Wankar, the Founder/Director of the FWAF, was born to a large Nigerian family in 1978, and had a happy upbringing in Africa. He was ordained a priest on August 14, 2004. He served as Pastor and Director of Communication in the Diocese of Makurdi in Nigeria until 2011 when he came to Berkeley for graduate studies. He holds a doctorate in Systematic Theology and is completing another doctorate in Sustainable Development.
He is currently Pastor at St. Anselm Church and School in the Ross Valley of California.
Asagh, Jane
Jane Asagh, is an attorney and a development consultant. She is a board member of the FWAF.
Nguvan Kyenge
Nguvan Kyenge, an accomplished architect, is a John Maxwell certified Mindset Coach, and a passionate entrepreneur. She serves on the board of the FWAF.
Josephine Haba
Josephine is the Director General of the Benue Peace Commission and Founder of the Jireh Doo Foundation. A veteran of development and humanitarian initiatives for decades, she also serves on the FWAF board.
Henriatha Haa-Orpin
Henriatha is a young accountant with a passion to make a difference in the lives of people with less opportunities. She is a board member of the FWAF.
Father Silas Akpa
Father Silas, a bioethicist, also serves on the board of the FWAF.
Simon Gbileve
Simon, a young attorney who is passionate about protecting women and children from abuse and neglect, serves as member/secretary of the FWAF board.
