Our Mission
Situated in Ameladu village near Gboko in north-central Nigeria, the FWAF is dedicated to providing support and resources to underprivileged individuals and rural communities in Africa, with a primary focus on skills in Education, Information Communication Technology, Technical Skills Training/Empowerment, Community Development Projects, and Humanitarian Assistance.
Education Support
The foundation offers scholarships, learning materials and educational infrastructure to improve access to quality education for children from low-income families and communities especially the girls and children with disabilities. Although our activities have mostly been at the RCM Special School for hearing and speech impaired children located in Ameladu village in central Nigeria, over twenty students at different levels of education are on our scholarship program in various schools across Benue State. Soon, the FWAF will start supporting with tutorial classes designed to prepare students in the rural areas for exit examinations from high school and entrance examinations into universities using the national standard syllabus and examination guides.
Information & Communication Technology
The foundation will provide training in basic computer literacy, preparatory classes for rural children preparing for both the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) and the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB). The goal is to enhance their chances of gaining admission into institutions of higher learning since their rural background puts them at a disadvantage in the quality of education accessible to them in the rural setting.
Skills Acquisition & Empowerment
Vocational training will be offered to women and children in various areas of specialization to enable them to put the skills into practice to generate income or earn a living. The trainings will be in different areas of specialization as follows: homemaking activities (including baking, interior and exterior decorations, catering, making of cleaning agents, and crafts), tailoring and fashion activities (including design and beading), and unisex salons. Under this program, the FWAF will train and support individuals and communities to establish Local Savings and Loan Associations (LSLA) to pull resources through collaborative process to support their businesses.
Community Development
The foundation will undertake community driven projects focusing on infrastructure development, sanitation, clean water access.
Disaster Relief & Humanitarian Assistance
In response to natural disasters and humanitarian crises, the foundation will mobilize resources, staff and volunteers to provide emergency relief, shelter and rehabilitation support to affected communities.
